Students performing scene 1: Family struggles.

On Wednesday, May 25th 2015, the international theater group "The Covenant Players" with the three actors Melody, Penny Jo and Larry visited the Kaufmännische Schulen in Dillenburg. It was their 7th visit at our school. Organized by the English department they offered three shows for about 150 students.

The theater group played three different scenes. In the first one a family - father, mother and daughter - was shown. The father had come home after 18 months of fighting in the Korean War.

The second scene was set in the Wild West and integrated the audience by helping out with various stage-effects. The Covenant Players also chose individual students from the audience to help the actors play both of the scenes.

In the last scene we saw a man who wanted to commit suicide because he said life in general has no sense. He talked to a girl who tried to convince him of not ending his life and tried to show him that life HAS a sense.

After every played scene we talked about what had happened, about the problems shown in each situation and discussed possible solutions.  The actors involved us students in everything they did - according to their motto "communications through drama".

All students were fascinated and enjoyed the show. At the end we had the chance to talk to the actors.  They were all nice, friendly and polite people and it was a pleasure meeting them.
